Pilotage, based on PM 57 Year 2015, is an activity of assisting, providing advice and information to the Master abot the condition of Local Waters which is important so that the navigation can be carried out safely, orderly and smoothly for the safety of the ship and the environment.

While Towage is the activity of pushing and/or pulling ships to and/or out of the pier/dock by using a tugboat.
